Are you a leader or a follower?

Today I am wearing a multi-plaid patchwork wool vest and vintage black trousers I found for $10. I'm really a big fan of vintage clothing as you can see. I may work for Barneys but I'm not one of their big clients. I truly believe that you can give the look for less. However I do love couture and designer clothing but I live on a budget, and I have learned how to have GREAT STYLE. To me real fashionistas/fashionistos shops everywhere. I even shop and re-shop my own closet, putting things together that I've never worn together before. Now don't get me wrong I do shop at Barneys but not for everything. One day I may be wearing Prada shoes, a kiton tie and a vintage suit I found that cost $7.....and it's okay to do so. Mix it! It keeps it interesting and fun. Think out of the box when it comes to fashion. It's time to stop being a follower and be a fashion leader. Most style makers have a "do what you feel attitude" when it comes to fashion. Remember fashion is an emotion not a thought in your head. So stop thinking so much and do what you feel.

  3. Korey- I agree with you. I just bought some Harem pant at F21 for $15.80 and I got more compliments than ever. It's really depends on how you put things together and make it look up to date. This is a great post. Thanks for sharing the tips....

  5. Very well said Korey! I just found your blog from Nini's site and I am smitten with your wonderful sense of style and refreshing thoughts. I work in a boutique and I don't shop there religiously like my clients think I do. I will shop from places like Saks and Neimans, but also vintage/thrift stores and Forever 21. Mixing and matching different pieces is so much more fun. Looking forward to more posts from you!

My fav "vintage" Designer Collection is Stella McCartney´s "HORSE" Collection for Chloe and ... oh yes, Lanvin´s feather/ tulle dresses from Eté 2003.
